For the Love of Reading.
From cover art to the author’s note, I love everything about books. With Prairie Flower Reads, I aim to highlight the creative work of authors and invite readers to discover/renew their love of reading!
What You Can Expect.
On this site, you’ll find reviews of old favourites and of new releases. I tend to read mostly Can Lit (but not always), I often gravitate to books written by women (but not always), and I probably read more fiction than non-fiction (but not always). I hope you’ll find your next favourite read here. If you do, let me know! Or, if you think I’ve a missed a title that should be included in my list of reviews, send me a note… I’d love to read what you’re reading!
About Me.
My name is Kate and I currently live on the Saskatchewan Prairie, on land traditionally known as Treaty 6 Territory in the city of Saskatoon. While I love discovering new gems, I’ll always revisit my favourite books and, if given the choice, I’ll pick a hardcover over soft every time. I especially love a deckled edge! When not reading, my evenings are usually spent walking along a prairie grid road or watching reruns of Agatha Christie’s Poirot with my husband, Dr. D. I hold an MFA in Writing and my own work has appeared in The New Quarterly, Grain, untethered, and elsewhere.
